Oswego Community Hospital's Patient Accounts Department (billing/insurance) strives to serve you in an effective and efficient manner.  We know that financial concerns add to the stress of any medical need.  Please call the business office at 620-795-2121 if you have any questions about your bill.

OCH Business Staff assists in scheduling appoitments, answering billing questions, answering general information questions, obtaining or sending medical records with proper releases and any other business-related issues.


Oswego Community Hospital is committed to provide you and your family with the best care regardless of your ability to pay.  However, we must collect for services in order to serve the health care needs of our community.  Payments may be made at the Admissions office located to the west of the main entrance.  Also, we accept payments by mail.  We accept cash, checks, money orders, Visa, MasterCard and Debit Cards.

Medicare/Commercial Insurance Patients:

Please bring a copy of your insurance card with you.  In order for OCH to bill Medicare/Commercial Insurance directly you will need to furnish us with the proper information.  Medicare/Insurance will provide you with an Explanation of Benefits indicating what they have paid.

No Insurance:

You will receive necessary medical services regardless of your ability to pay.  You will be asked to check out at the admissions office before leaving the facility so that you can make arrangements to pay for your treatment.

Your Responsibility:

You are responsible for deductibles, co-pays, co-insurance, and non-covered services.  We suggest that you review your insurance benefits contract so that you understand your benefits.  There are circumstances when you may be responsible for the entire bill if insurance carrier denies the claim because you did not provide the required information or pre-certification of services were not obtained.


For copies of your medical record contact the Medical Records Department.  The hours for Release of Information are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Proper identification (photo ID) and signing an authorization are required.  For records on anyone besides yourself (i.e. spouse, child, etc), or if you are under the age of 18, please contact us to determine the necessary legal requirements for access.  Charges for copies may apply.  


Q.  Will I get an itemized statement in the mail?

A.  We will mail you a statement, but it is not itemized.  To request an itemized statement, contact the Business Office.

Q. Does the hospital do prior authorization on all outpatient services?

A.  Although OCH tries to do prior authorization on as many services as possible, it is your responsibility to contact your insurance company to get prior authorization for services.
